Composite Veneers are mainly used for aesthetic purposes, to improve the appearance of a discoloured or chipped tooth. They can also be used to reduce or close gaps between teeth to change their overall appearance. The procedure itself is very common, and will normally be completed within one visit.
Your dentist will select a tooth coloured resin that most closely matches the shade of your existing teeth, and moulds and attaches it onto your tooth. Once placed under ultraviolet light, the resin hardens and sheen's to look like a real tooth.
Composite Veneers require little or no removal of tooth enamel and are pain free and will often only last for a few years as the material used is not as strong as real teeth. Therefore, you must take care when biting and chewing.
